Macro In The Garden

This is a post I started but never finished… Its a quick run down of some macro photography Alex and I did last summer. Have a read and let me know what you think in the comment section below.

I was in the garden playing with Alex while Robyn was in bed and noticed this huge bumble bee flying in and out of the flowers. This is something we are not used to as, up until recently, our garden was a bit of a mud pit with not a flower in sight. However over the summer (2015) we got the garden done by Blackwood Designs and now we literary have another room to our house we all can use and enjoy. The inevitable words were muttered a number of time “we should have done it years ago”…

When it comes to bugs and bees Alex can get quite scared so we sat and watched the bumble bee do his job (from a safe distance). Alex was amazed how they were flying in and out to every flower picking up the pollen and heading back the hive.

So in one of the breaks I went and grabbed the camera and attached my macro tubes to see what we could get. Alex played look out while I was ready to fire. After a half an hour or so and nearly 100 photos taken, we came out with these few photos.

The moral of the story, not every photo has to be a great big expedition, sometimes a great photo/adventure can be in your back garden.
