RBS 6 Nation Trophy Tour 2015

Last week I had the opportunity to tour with the Triple Crown and the brand new RBS 6 Nations Trophy which Ireland won in 2014. A number of former players were on the trip, with John "The Bull" Haze, Gavin Duffy and Alan Quinlan keeping me company. Some of the nicest guys you could meet. Oh, and not forgetting Henri Hippo...

The tour started on Monday, 9th Feb in Dublin making it's way to Belfast, Derry and then on to Sligo where I met up with them on Wednesday evening. I was there to capture the atmosphere of the panel discussion in the Sligo RFC where Darragh Cox from Ocean FM interviewed John and Gavin. There was a great turnout on the evening with plenty of pressing questions for the panel members from the kids in the crowd. It followed with a meet and greet where fans got the opportunity to pose with both the players and the trophies. Full set of images from the evening can be seen here.

After that we headed to Galway where Alan Quinlan rejoined the tour on Thursday morning. A busy day with 5 school visits, an Ulster Bank branch visit, training session and panel discussion all to be squeezed in. We started in St Joseph's Special School, then to the neighbouring Educate Together N.S. and stopped off in Menlo National School just before breaking for lunch. After that we headed to Ulster Bank, Eyre Square where poor Henri got fully involved in the action with Quinlan's style of rugby...

From there we visited the Jes and the Bish secondary schools and then moved on to a training session with the Galwegian RFC at their grounds in Crowley Park. I finished up with the tour that evening at the Connacht Hotel where a panel discussion was conducted by the Connacht Tribune's sports editor Ollie Turner. Again there were ample photo opportunities for all there. Full set of images from Galway can be seen here.

The tour continued on through Shannon and Limerick on Friday before returning to Dublin in time for the clash with France at the Aviva Stadium.

It was a full on couple of days that I truly enjoyed! I met some really nice people, shared some great stories while capturing memories along the way. Well done to Ulster Bank for organising a great week. It was a pleasure to be involved!
